Kenosha Potato Project

Pledge to save the seed - 2011 version

Please print this form and bring it to the location where you are receiving potato tubers (seed). If you are receiving seed from Kenosha Potato Project against payment or at no charge, you need to sign this pledge. You may mail it (403 8th St, Kenosha, WI 53140) if you are not living locally.

You must make a pledge to care for the tubers (seed), plant them and care for the vines to ensure harvesting a crop. The crop is yours to sell and/or eat - except for at least 2 order sizes (6 tubers in walnut to small peach size) which must be saved for the next season in your garden, or shared with someone else to further propagate.

You are making a pledge to save the seed for at least one year, but we hope that you will extend your pledge from year to year, allowing KPP to ensure the survival of all the varieties in the catalog. PLEASE INFORM US OF WHICH VARIETIES YOU ARE PLANNING TO DROP, so we may be able to find a new gardener for your varieties.

This organization is NOT a seed catalog!! We are a germplasm bank and your participation will be credited in the PPK catalog. You can take credit of being a member of the largest network of rare potato varieties growers.

We already have seed of potato varieties, so rare in the United States of America, that possibly you could be the only person growing it. Are you ready to take on the responsibility to grow a variety that is that rare? If you fail, and the source of the seed also has a crop failure, that variety would be gone! Lost, extinct, like so many species of animals and plants are lost every year. But if you fail ... well, you may be blamed for it. Not all varieties are that rare. If you have doubts, please request varieties that are NOT critical. Thank you!
